4D or 5D Russian volume: which fullness should you choose?

Compare 4D and 5D volume without confusing fibre count, length and overall intensity.

Russian volume 5D

4D and 5D use fans of four or five fibres. The final look also depends on the design and the natural lashes supporting the extensions.

Choose the amount of definition you enjoy

A stronger look can come from a denser base, more visible length or a pronounced curl. Before choosing 4D or 5D, identify what appeals to you: an eyeliner-like base, a full fringe or noticeable tips.

This distinction helps avoid choosing something far from your preference. Extra length does not replace a change in fullness, and the reverse is also true.

Volume must work with your natural lashes

Fibre count is not the only consideration when creating a fan. The studio adapts the set to your natural lashes. An online choice does not require an unsuitable weight or length to be used.

If you like texture as much as fullness, also compare Wispy and Kim K. They answer a different question: where the lengths are placed rather than how many fibres form a fan.

Plan for maintenance

A fuller set also needs to look balanced as the lashes grow out. An infill restores the design when the remaining extensions allow it. Book the maintenance option matching your current volume.

The Russian volume selector lists 4D and 5D separately with their prices. Compare the photographs and explain whether you want a softer impression or a more defined line.
