How to clean your lash extensions

Practical questions to ask after application so your routine stays gentle and suited to your extensions.

Lash extension maintenance

Between appointments, follow the routine recommended for the products used in your set. Cleansing and brushing should not become pulling, rubbing or loosening extensions.

Ask for clear instructions at the studio

Before leaving, check which cleanser to use, how to rinse it and how to dry and brush your lashes. Advice should match your treatment rather than a universal rule from a video.

Ask about the first hours after application too. Protocols and adhesives differ; avoid combining contradictory waiting times.

Keep movements gentle

Cleaning maintains the area; it is not a way to alter the set. Avoid pulling an extension that looks twisted or a spike that seems uneven. Let the studio know instead.

An accessory that catches, repeated makeup removal or a difficult-to-remove product can complicate the routine. Review your habits with the studio if retention or comfort changes significantly.

Cleaning is not an infill

Home care does not replace extensions shed as natural lashes renew. If your set loses fullness, an infill may be appropriate depending on what remains.

For persistent discomfort, do not try to remove fibres yourself with improvised products. Contact the studio; seek medical advice for an eye-health concern. The maintenance page links to infill and removal appointments.
